Is it just me?

Is it just me or does it seem that holidays are closer together....HalloweenThanksgivingChristmas and if you have Hanukkah to celebrate....wow the festivities never end.....but do we have time to relish and savor each one?

Is it just me or does the first Christmas/Holiday card always come from someone you barely know? And the last one from someone to whom you didn't send one?

It is just me or is shopping more difficult...even for mundane things like toothpaste and detergent? There used to be one Crest Toothpaste, one Colgate, one Ipana or whatever...now each brand has eighteen jillion different types it seems. And that is true of cereals, detergents, shampoo, etc. I don't even like to decide which is my favorite color...now on a trip to the store I am faced with multiple decisions...and when I do decide on a favorite, it is either discontinued or the packaging changes so much I can't find it!

Is it just me or do leftovers taste better the next day after all the guests have left? I love to have guests and love to cook....but things never taste just right when we finally sit down for the meal. I used to laugh at my Mom for always saying when she served something, "This doesn't taste as good as it did the last time I made it." Now I understand...but I don't make the mistake of saying anything, especially in front of family.

Is it just me or does it seem that friends, and family too,are more enjoyable these days. It seems to be a time to gather together and count our many blessings....maybe a potluck dinner somewhere...in the middle of January.....
